Company Info

Company owners Dan and Angie Bastian began Angie’s Kettle Corn as a side venture when their 2 children, Aunikah and Tripp, were just 5 and 3. Hoping to both earn extra income for college funds and demonstrate the importance of hard work, Dan and Angie started selling Angie’s Kettle Corn at outdoor events in 2001. The couple enjoyed regional popularity at outdoor events, but all that changed when Dan and Angie decided to gift the Vikings players and coaches with bags of kettle corn after a long day at training camp in Mankato. The team was so impressed with the snack, that they soon became the official kettle corn of the Minnesota Vikings. The players weren’t the only ones impressed. In no time, fans wanted to know where they could buy Angie’s in the off-season. In January 2008, Dan and Angie made the decision to bring the operation indoors and begin manufacturing their treat for retail.

And they’ve never looked back. Ten years after their small venture began, the company has grown from the husband and wife pair to more than 100 employees producing 80,000 bags a day. Their Classic, Lite and Caramel varieties can be found in 50 states in stores including Costco, Super Target, Whole Foods, Lunds, Byerly’s and all SuperValu-owned stores.

All Natural Ingredients To Love

Angie’s Kettle Corn is real food, made with natural ingredients: popcorn, corn oil, cane sugar and sea salt. Our Caramel variety is kissed with natural Caramel flavoring, and is made with 6 natural ingredients. There are no artificial flavors, colors, preservatives…no artificial anything. Additionally, Angie’s Kettle Corn is made in a facility that is completely free of peanuts and tree nuts.

We make Angie’s Kettle Corn with the highest quality ingredients from the finest Midwestern providers. We support local farmers, industry, and sustainable agriculture.

Community Involvement

Angie’s is now the official kettle corn of the Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx professional sports teams. In addition, Dan and Angie donate their time and resources to a variety of community fundraising events and programs, including March of Dimes, Kids Against Hunger, Salvation Army, YMCA, and many others devoted to supporting children and education.

For many different reasons, local and national media are highlighting Angie’s Kettle Corn. In March 2011, Food & Wine magazine featured Angie’s Lite, and founders Dan and Angie Bastian appeared on the Martha Stewart Show on the Hallmark Channel in January 2011.

Are your products nut-free?
Many people buy Angie’s Artisan Treats products because we create great tasting products that are also sensitive to dietary needs. None of our products are made with nuts. We make every effort to ensure that our products and facilities are nut free, however, our products are not certified nut-free.

Are your products all-natural?
We at Angie’s Artisan Treats use only natural ingredients to make our kettle corn. We select our ingredient suppliers based on several criteria, and one of these criterion is all-natural.

Are your products certified gluten-free?
Yes! All of our products have been tested and certified gluten-free by the Gluten Free Certification Organization. For more information, visit www.gfco.org.

Are your products non-GMO?
An additional criterion at Angie’s Artisan Treats is non-GMO. Each of the ingredient suppliers for this product assure us they have taken the appropriate precautions to send us only “GMO FREE” ingredients.

Salt and Sugar – Our salt and sugar are Non-GMO – Our vendor does not contract for or purchase popcorn containing genetically modified germplasm. To the best of their knowledge there isn’t any popcorn seed or commercial popcorn production available that has been genetically modified. In addition, the commercial popcorn they produce and process is termed dense sterile.  This means the popcorn they supply is not receptive to pollen produced by genetically modified dense corn.

Corn Oil, Coloring, and Flavoring – Our vendors state that these ingredients have the potential to be derived via bio-engineered seed, but due to the processing and refining of these ingredients, they should not contain any DNA or protein.

Are your products Kosher certified?
At Angie’s Kettle Corn, we understand that our success is based on the safety, quality, and individual needs of our consumers. One such area is making our product a “Kosher” product. Angie’s is certified by Blue Ribbon Kosher out of Minneapolis. BRK is an accepted Orthodox supervision which ensure all products are parve, non dairy.

Angie’s Kettle Corn is a gluten-free certified, top eight allergen-free, preservative-free, all natural and non-GMO selection that comes in three delectable flavors: kettle, caramel, and “lite” kettle. Sweet but not overly salty, we chose Angie’s Original Kettle Corn as our official favorite.

What Do You Eat?

Right around the time I started thinking about writing this post, I was approached by Angie’s Kettle Corn. They asked if they could send me a few bags of their product -no strings attached – and I agreed (kettle corn? me? It wasn’t a hard sell). Every weekend at our local Safeway, a local man sets up shop and sells fresh kettle corn. If Jack and I are anywhere in the vicinity of the store, we go grab a small bag. It’s just one of those things you can’t pass up. To be honest, I didn’t expect much of the bagged kettle corn… we have fresh here, why would we buy it in a bag?

Jack and I were the only ones home when the box of kettle corn came, and we *may have* told Michael that only five bags were sent instead of six. Jack and I ate an entire bag throughout the afternoon. It was that good. My thighs thanked me for sharing the rest of the kettle corn with some friends (and keeping one bag for Michael). I easily could have eaten it all. After posting that on their facebook page, they quickly replied that it happens often, and it’s not abnormal.
